This is from a painting by a man called Peter Breughel.  He painted the picture around the year 1565

The painting shows a boy with a 'nutmill’ or “eggmill” and a girl with a spinning top.

It was the Japanese that created a flying toy called the Taketombo.   Was it inspired by Da Vinci’s girocopter?  

The nutmill is probably based on a drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci of a device he called a 'Gyro copter"
